Dennis Guernsey Dennis was born on November 3, 1953 in Gary, Indiana (Mercy Hospital) to Thomas and Yolanda Guernsey.  He has two sisters, Peggy Guernsey of Ogden Dunes and Lisa Hayes of Portage.  He was raised in the Brunswick and Miller areas of Gary.  Dennis attended Holy Rosary School, Bishop Noll HS, Wirt HS, Gary Vocational and Indiana University in Gary (Bachelor of Science, Management). He and his wife, Janet, have 5 children:  Sherry Razo (Nurse) of Phoenix, AZ; Dennis Jr. (US Navy) of Kennebunk, ME; Angela Wells (Student Teaching) of Portage, IN; Beth Wells (recently completed Peace Corps service in Samoa) of Atlanta, GA; and Tina Ward (Certified Nursing Assistant) of Chesterton, IN.  They also have 6 grandchildren with a 7th due any day! Dennis has served in the US Marine Corps for 8 years (1971-1979) and currently works at the Mittal Steel-Indiana Harbor Bar Products for 26 years (1979-current) as a Systems Analyst and Planning Analyst. His ministry life at Nativity is involves Eucharistic Minister of Holy Communion, St. Vincent DePaul Society, Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA), Cursillo, Former Pastoral Council Member (was on the 1st council), Festival Worker, and is currently enrolled in the 3rd year of the Diocesan Lay Ministry Formation Program and is in the process of applying for the Diaconate program. Dennis' various hobbies include Running (participated in 11 Marathons [9 in Chicago and 2 in Boston]), watching Notre Dame football, and most importantly, playing with grandchildren and nephews.
