Our website feature where you can "Get To Know" members of our Parish Community!! Michael J. Kovacs  I was born South Side of Chicago in 1962. I survived the great blizzard  of '69 before moving to Calumet City, IL in 1970. I grew up (some argue the point!), was a Bicentennial Jr. High Grad, went to TF North High School  and graduated in 1980. I attended college at University of Chicago, Thornton Community, and finally graduated Purdue with a triple Bachelors.  While at Purdue I met my wife, Lisa. We were married in a Christian ceremony in 1990. We currently have two children, Michael III & Cara. In 2000, for our 10th Anniversary, we renewed our vows at Nativity Church.  In 1980, my father sponsored me into Coronata Council #3806 of the  Knights of Columbus. We also worked together on cable TV productions, CityFest, and many other projects. In 1991 I moved to Portage, but continued to attend St. Victor's in Cal City for the next 5 years before transferring to Nativity. At that time I also transferred to the Nativity Knights of Columbus and became an active member.  Today I am an usher at 7am Mass every Sunday, a 4th Degree member of the Knights, Grand Knight for 2005-2006, and a technology consultant by trade. I enjoy being an active part of Nativity church and look forward to being here for a long time. In lumine Christi a mortuis Resurgentis!
